CALLING ALL BLACK THEATRE CREATIVES IN NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR

To quench the thirst of Black led productions in Newfoundland and Labrador, TODOS Productions and Twiga Theatre have partnered up to develop a training program for aspiring and existing Black theatre creators to provide support and skill development opportunities.

To understand the existing need and desire from community, we are doing some preliminary research about the existing and aspiring professionals who self-identify as Black in Newfoundland and Labrador. Join us for a one-on-one research interview that will help us create a theatre program for Black theatre creatives in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Kindly note:
  • The interviewees will not be financially compensated for thier participation;
  • Interviews will be recorded for the purposes of research;
  • We anticipate a large number of interview requests, therefore we will only be selecting a number of applicants.

- LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT -

TODOS Productions operates from St. John’s, Ktaqmkuk (colonially known as Newfoundland) and Labrador. We acknowledge Ktaqmkuk as the unceded and ancestral territory of the Beothuk and the Mi’kmaq; and Labrador as the traditional homelands of the Innu of Nitassinan, Inuit of Nunatsiavut, and the Inuit of NunatuKavut. We recognize all First Peoples who were here before us, those who live with us now, and the seven generations to come.
We recognize that it is our duty to learn about the caretakers of this province who have been looking after the land and water before us, and we strive to work consciously and respectfully with them to support one another in solidarity and love.
